Christmas lights switch on event at Portchester Precinct

Christmas is upon us! We are pleased to announce that the Christmas lights switch on event will be on Friday 2nd December 5 til 6pm at Portchester Precinct. There will be performances from local schools and the lights will be switched on by Portsmouth Football Club Ambassador Alan Knight. Lets come together as a community and sing carols around the Christmas tree, see you there!

Portchester Fun Day

Many thanks to all everyone involved in the Portchester Fun Day held at Portchester Precinct on Saturday September 10th, we managed to raise a whopping £819.86 towards a defibrillator for Portchester precinct! The use of a defibrillator in cases of cardiac arrest can increase chances of survival from 6% to 75%(when used within 5 minutes of collapse), so this equipment has the potential to save many lives. Special thanks go to the Portchester Traders Association for helping to organise the day and all of the stall holders, local businesses, classic car owners and band members for coming down in the pouring rain to support the cause. Also, thank you to everyone who came to the precinct to enjoy the fun despite the rain!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

The Macmillan Coffee morning held at the hub on Friday 30th September was a brilliant success! Portchester Community Association, in partnership with Sharon Idir (RAVERS) raised £311.07 for Macmillan. Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy a hot drink and a slice of cake and also to our hard working volunteers for making it happen.

Clearing up Portchester Precinct Car Park

A team of young volunteers from the National Citizenship scheme (accompanied by PCA volunteers) worked incredibly hard to make the precinct car park flowerbeds looks great once again. Many thanks to the volunteers for their time and effort, Community Action Fareham for organising the volunteer opportunity, to Streetscene, Fareham Borough Council for providing gardening equipment and collecting 21 bags of garden waste (WOW) and finally the Fairshare FoodCloud based at Tescos Port Solent for providing food for lunch. I think you can all agree, the hard work has paid off and the flowerbeds now look wonderful!

Many thanks to all workers and volunteers involved, we managed to completely re-vamp 3 flower beds in the precinct car park, re-paint many of the benches and do a massive litter sweep all within one day.
